Bethel (Mamterilleq in Central Alaskan Yup'ik) is a city located near the west coast of the U.S. state of Alaska, 400 miles west of Anchorage. Accessible only by air and river, Bethel is the main port on the Kuskokwim River and is an administrative and transportation hub for the 56 villages in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
Bethel is the largest community in western Alaska as well as the 9th largest in the state, with a population estimated to be 6,500 in 2010.

Mark your calendars, K-300 Sled Dog Race, Jan. 17-19, 2014. Zach Fansler, manager of the race will be the guest speaker at the luncheon on Dec. 5, noon-1:00, at the Mud Hut restaurant.
Dec. 12th - Patty Burly, owner of Raven Fabrics, will be sharing the "making" of her business and what's available for you to make for Christmas.
Dec. 19th - We will have a panel of three people sharing the benefits they received from the program "Best in the West" at the luncheon. Best in the West is a great program to help people get their small business up and running. If you have any thoughts of wanting to start your own business this is one luncheon you don't want to miss.
Jan. 2nd - Meera Kohler, CEO for Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, will be our speaker. Bethel will be getting their electricity from a cooperative! Come learn how that's going to come together.
