BETHEL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
1. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, Bethel resident who anticipates returning to Bethel after graduation. 2. Applicant must be a full-time student at a college or university that is accredited by a regional accrediting association. Graduate applicants must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA* and MUST major in a field of study that has an emphasis in business. 3. Applicant must have at least one year, 24 credits of documented college courses toward his/her business degree. 4. Applicant must write a one to two-page, typed essay outlining his/her career goals and why he/she feels it is important to increase business ventures in Bethel. Applicant can include accomplishments relevant to increasing business ventures in his/her community. 5. Applicant must write a brief paragraph explaining graduate school and/or community activities in which he/she is involved. (Give dates) 6. Applicant must write a brief paragraph describing any honors and awards that he/she has received. (Give dates) 7. Applicant must provide a letter of reference from a professor or internship advisor. 8. If the applicant does not think his/her GPA accurately reflects his/her scholastic capability and achievement, then draft an essay no longer than one-page explaining the discrepancy. 9. Applicant must attach a resume. The resume should reflect what he/she would present to a prospective employer, with the career objective clearly stated. 10. Applicant must attach an official transcript from his/her college/university or business trade school and letter of continued acceptance, or proof of enrollment in that schools program for the ensuing year. 11. Applicant must sign, date and return the application to Bethel Chamber of Commerce, P. O. Box 329, Bethel, Alaska 99559. The Application, along with all attachments, must be RECEIVED no later than 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008. Applications postmarked August 15, 2008 or later WILL NOT be accepted! |
